Starting Again at 61
I SENT ANOTHER RESUME
In my first post here, I introduced myself and talked about starting something new at 61.
Today I want to share something that also became part of this journey: sending another resume.
Today I sent another resume trying to find an internship.
Usually I send my resume without mentioning my age. I keep only the essential information, hoping that at least someone will give me the chance to show who I am and what I can do.
But today, honestly, I decided to stop hiding it.
I included my age, my degrees, my postgraduate studies, and my qualifications.
Whoever wants to accept me, great.
Whoever doesn’t, that’s fine too.
Sooner or later someone will give me that opportunity.
Because one thing about me is very clear:
I am persistent.
Life has taught me something important.
Whenever something looks too easy, I become suspicious.
Nothing in my life has ever been truly easy.
So why would it suddenly be different now?
And to be honest, I think that’s actually a good thing.
Because everything that comes too easily often goes away just as easily.
When there is no effort, no dedication, no sweat behind what we achieve, we rarely value it.
But when the path is difficult — when there are challenges, frustrations, and obstacles — the moment you finally succeed becomes incredibly meaningful.
Because you know you arrived there without cheating, without begging, and without giving up.
And when that happens, you don’t just achieve something.
You become stronger.
More experienced.
More prepared for the next challenge.
And you?
Have you ever gone through something that seemed impossible?
If you feel comfortable sharing, I would love to hear your story.

I applaud you for this. And I want to encourage you because I’ve seen people get hired at your age, even older. For many places, you are exactly the right fit. Bosses and managers who appreciate wisdom, discipline and vast experience. You will be the right pic. They will hire you. Keep going 🫶
